Guide to Recyclables — Cell Phones

cellphoneAbout

Cell phones contain some components which are highly recyclable, such as the plastics, gold (used in the phone circuit boards), silver, copper (in the chargers) and platinum, while others need to be properly disposed of due to their hazardous nature.   If you recycle one phone, you can reclaim all the metals you need for the manufacture of a new one.  Source

RadioShack accepts any and all wireless phones for recycling — regardless of their condition and with or without their chargers — at all of our company-operated locations in the continental United States. Phones collected through the RBRC’s Call2Recycle program will be refurbished and resold when possible or responsibly recycled for materials otherwise.

For every cellphone collected at a RadioShack store location that is subsequently refurbished and resold, RadioShack will donate $1 to LIVESTRONG, a non-profit that provides support to guide people through the cancer experience.
