MCIA Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling Event Saturday, June 10th

The Mercer County Improvement Authority (MCIA) will hold its 2nd hazardous waste and electronics recycling event of 2023 on Saturday, June 10th from 8 am to 2 pm.

Location: Dempster Fire School, 350 Lawrence Station Road, Lawrenceville 
Time: 8am – 2pm

Accepted for recycling are the following:

Aerosol Cans | Used Motor Oil |Propane Gas Tanks | Pesticides & Herbicides | Car Batteries | Paint Thinner | Oil Based Paint | Stains & Varnishes | Gasoline | Anti-Freeze | Driveway Sealer | Insect Repellents | Mercury | Fluorescent & CFL Bulbs | Computers | Printers | Copiers | Fax Machines | Stereos | Televisions | Microwaves

First Shred Day of 2023 Announced for Ewing Residents

Text Description automatically generatedMayor Bert Steinmann invites you to dispose of your SENSITIVE DOCUMENTS safely and securely at Ewing’s first Shred Day of the year, Saturday, May 6th from 9 am – 1 pm at the Ewing Municipal Building front parking lot.  Materials from businesses are not accepted and Ewing residents will be required to provide Proof of Residency. Because this is an extremely popular program, please be prepared to spend a few minutes waiting in line. The event takes place rain or shine.  Document shredding will be done on site.

PLEASE SHRED RESPONSIBLY

WE REQUEST THAT YOU PLEASE LIMIT PAPERS TO CONFIDENTIAL / SENSITIVE MATERIALS ONLY

EXAMPLES OF WHAT TO BRING:

Obsolete Tax Documents, Bank Statements/Cancelled Checks, Sensitive information, Birth dates, Social Security Information, Signatures, Passwords and Pins, Credit Card Statements and Receipts, Credit Card Offers, Reports and Histories, etc.

DO NOT BRING: newspapers, books or magazines, junk mail, plastic covering or cardboard, CD’s or floppy discs, metal or plastic binders, sheet protectors, overnight shipping envelopes (FedEx, UPS, etc.), photographs, x-rays, carbon paper, plastics, and any other non-paper item.

Please do not bring shredded paper, wet paper, or garbage.

The Mercer County Improvement Authority will be hosting its April Document Shredding event this Saturday, April 29th from 9 am – 12 pm.

in Lot 4 of 651 South Broad Street in Trenton (across from the Mercer County Administration Building).  The event will be held rain or shine.

A maximum of eight boxes and/or Bags of Paper will be accepted.  No Household chemicals will be accepted.  This event is for Mercer County residents only, NO commercial businesses allowed.  Proof of residency is required (Driver’s license).

The Mercer County Improvement Authority will be sponsoring a County Document Shredding event this Saturday, October 8th from 9 am – 12 noon.  It will be held at 641 South Broad Street, Trenton, Lot 4, across the Mercer County Administration Building.  

A maximum of eight boxes and/or bags of paper per vehicle will be accepted.  This event is for paper only, no household chemicals will be accepted.

This Shred Day is open to Mercer County residents only; no commercial businesses will be allowed. 

Proof of residency (driver’s license) will also be required.

Township Plans Shred Events for April and October 2022

Dispose of your sensitive documents safely and securely at Ewing’s 2022 Shred Days, scheduled for Saturday, April 16th and Saturday, October 15th from 9 – 1 at the Municipal building.  Document shredding will be done on site.  This service is for Ewing residents only and proof of residency is required.

First 2021 Ewing Township Shred Day

This Saturday, May 15th from 9 am until 1 pm, the Township will be hosting a Shred Day at the Municipal Complex located at 2 Jake Garzio Drive.

This free event is for Township residents only and provides a safe and secure way to clean out those old checks, bills and any confidential documents that need proper disposal.

Restrictions

Materials will not be accepted from businesses and Ewing residents will be required to provide Proof of Residency.

Because this is an extremely popular program please be prepared to spend a few minutes waiting in line.

COVID Precautions

For your safety and the safety of others face masks must be worn, and all citizens will be required to stay in their cars while workers remove your shredding items from your car for you. Items to be shredded should be placed in your trunk or rear cargo area. Please do not get out of your car while waiting in line or while your items are being shredded.
